The seventh Abbott World Marathon Major and the first race with a Platinum Label in the Southern Hemisphere. The course runs through the city's most iconic landmarks - starting in North Sydney, crossing the legendary Sydney Harbour Bridge early on, then following the harbour before finishing in the forecourt of the Sydney Opera House. The race combines spectacular harbour views with demanding, occasionally undulating stretches (including Oxford Street), while the Australian spring provides mild running conditions. It's one of the fastest-growing Majors, drawing an ever-larger field of runners from around the world.
