Marrakech International Marathon

About the event

The Marrakech International Marathon is one of Africa's most renowned running events, held in the historic Moroccan city of Marrakech at the foothills of the Atlas Mountains. The course takes runners along the city's ancient ramparts, through palm-lined avenues, gardens and distinctive urban neighborhoods, combining athletic achievement with Moroccan history and culture. Known for its relatively flat and fast course, the marathon offers excellent opportunities for strong performances. The January race date typically brings mild running conditions, attracting thousands of international participants. The event's atmosphere is shaped by the city's ochre architecture, enthusiastic spectators and spectacular surroundings. The programme includes a full marathon, half marathon and a recreational 5K race.
