The Louisiana Marathon is a winter road-running event held in Baton Rouge, the capital of Louisiana, USA. Founded in 2012, it combines endurance running with the state's distinctive Southern culture, live music and local cuisine. The race weekend includes a full marathon, half marathon, quarter marathon, 5K and children's events. The marathon starts near the Louisiana State Capitol and takes runners through downtown Baton Rouge, the Louisiana State University campus, scenic University Lakes and historic neighbourhoods. Its predominantly flat, paved course makes it attractive to runners aiming for personal bests and Boston qualifying times. The experience concludes with a lively finish festival featuring Louisiana food, entertainment and a welcoming community atmosphere.
Timing weights apply to climbs, not turns. Elevation totals use the smoothed profile used by Index.
