**EDP Lisbon Half Marathon** is one of the world's most famous and fastest half marathons, held in Portugal's sunny capital. First organised in 1991, the event has witnessed outstanding performances and world records by elite athletes. In 2021, Jacob Kiplimo set a world record here with a time of 57:31. The race is part of the prestigious **SuperHalfs** series, featuring six European half marathons, with runners who complete all six earning the coveted SuperMedal. The highlight of the race is its spectacular start on the iconic 25 de Abril Bridge, offering panoramic views of Lisbon and the Tagus River. The course then follows wide riverside roads, passing historic neighbourhoods and waterfront promenades before finishing near the magnificent Jerónimos Monastery in Belém. Its fast, mostly flat profile, mild March weather and enthusiastic crowds make the Lisbon Half Marathon an ideal combination of personal best opportunities and unforgettable sightseeing.

The mass race starts on the 25 de Abril Bridge and finishes at Praça do Império in Belém. Elite athletes have a separate start, so check which route variant a map represents.
The existing route section above contains the elevation chart, climbs and descents. Consider where elevation changes occur, not just their total, when planning pace. The catalog file has not yet been verified against the official 2027 course; a current file version is not organizer confirmation.
Check current availability and fees with the organizer. The event page lists 09:20 while the regulations say 09:30; confirm the start time in the final runner information. Check the detailed rules behind the three-hour limit and course closure.
