The ADAC Marathon Hannover is one of Germany's largest and flattest marathons, held every April in the capital of Lower Saxony. The start and finish are at Trammplatz, right next to the New Town Hall, and the course takes runners on a sporting sightseeing tour through the city centre, Linden, Nordstadt and around Lake Maschsee. With only about 19 metres of elevation change, it is one of the flattest courses in the country, offering near-ideal conditions for a personal best, and its World Athletics Label certification and status as host of the German Marathon Championships attract top athletes from East Africa and Europe. More than 90 entertainment stations along the route and a family-friendly weekend programme make it a true sporting festival for the whole region..
