Germany's oldest city marathon, held every year in late October and one of the eight European Marathon Classics. The course runs through the old town, along the banks of the river Main and through Frankfurt's financial district, finishing with a spectacular indoor finish inside the Festhalle at the Messegelände fairgrounds. The fast, mostly flat course draws both PB-chasers and world-class elites - it was in Frankfurt that Wilson Kipsang once set a course record. The race gathers tens of thousands of participants each year and is famous for its unique under-the-roof finish atmosphere.
