The race is known for enthusiastic community support, well-organized race services and warm Japanese hospitality. Its varied course combines relatively flat sections with gentle climbs, offering runners an enjoyable challenge. Certified by World Athletics/AIMS, the marathon attracts more than ten thousand participants and provides an opportunity to discover Matsuyama's cultural landmarks, including the famous Dōgo Onsen hot springs.
