**Marathon COMAR de Tunis-Carthage** is one of North Africa's longest-running marathon events, held in Tunisia's capital since 1986. Its 39th edition takes place on December 6, 2026, featuring a marathon, half marathon, 5K and children's race. The event attracts thousands of local and international participants, while the full marathon course is measured and certified according to World Athletics/AIMS standards. Starting in central Tunis near Avenue Habib Bourguiba and Place du 14 Janvier, the routes follow broad city streets and areas surrounding Lake Tunis. The predominantly flat urban terrain offers opportunities for strong performances, while the December date brings milder conditions than the Tunisian summer. The race also promotes environmental awareness through initiatives such as tree planting, adding a community-focused dimension to the running experience.
