**Cardiff Half Marathon** is one of the largest half marathons in the United Kingdom, held in the capital of Wales. Since its debut in 2003, when just 1,500 runners took part, the event has grown into an international celebration of running. In 2016, Cardiff hosted the World Half Marathon Championships. The race is part of the prestigious **SuperHalfs** series, featuring six European half marathons. Runners who complete all six earn the coveted SuperMedal. The scenic course takes runners past some of Cardiff’s most iconic landmarks. Starting at the foot of the medieval Cardiff Castle, participants pass Principality Stadium, Cardiff Bay, Wales Millennium Centre and the lake in Roath Park. The finish line is located in the Civic Centre. The mostly flat and fast course offers excellent opportunities for personal bests, while thousands of cheering spectators and a vibrant Welsh atmosphere make the race a perfect combination of sporting excitement and city sightseeing.
