The Phoenix Energy Belfast City Marathon is the largest marathon in Northern Ireland, held since 1982 and AIMS certified. The 45th edition takes place on Sunday, 2 May 2027, over the May bank holiday weekend. The race starts on the Stormont Estate, in front of the imposing Parliament Buildings, and finishes in Ormeau Park. The course is a single loop through the whole city, passing through all four quarters of Belfast, by Belfast City Hall, the Waterworks and the Falls Road, and alongside the River Lagan. It is famous for the warm support of local crowds, and the time limit is six hours. Alongside the marathon runs the popular five-person relay, so you can take part with a whole team.
